Book review: ‘Si Pilandok Sa Pulo ng Pawikan’

A greedy chief wants to eat Pawikan (turtle) eggs and sends his best warriors to the Pawikan Island to fetch him the eggs. Pilandok wants to save the Pawikan eggs so they can safely hatch. He gets to the island first and swaps the egg with round shaped stones. The warriors bring the stones to the chief who wonders whether it is normal for Pawikan eggs to turn into stones. In the meantime, Pilandok buries the eggs in the sand and waits for the little turtles to hatch and listen to the call of the sea.
