It starts in the prehistoric era, then Antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Spanish Empire, then 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th century. The chapters are not too long and are subdivided to make it easier for children to follow.

In the woods, at bedtime, all the mums read a story to their little ones. One night, they can hear a funny noise and before they know it, books have disappear. Night after night, their books are gone and no-one know who is taking them. The little ones are distressed as there are no more books for their bedtime routine. The rabbit decides to stay up all night and catch the book thief.

A pixie-like creature is caught. he loves stories and the only way to read new stories everyday is to steal books. After promising to return all the books, the creature is allowed to visit a different den, lair burrow, nest every night to listen to a different story.

We are happy to announced that in June we will be organising 5 story times:

Spanish – Sat 1 at 2.30pm at Le toboggan’s (Nedlands) & Wed 5 at 11am at the City of Perth Library (COPL, Hay st)

Italian – Sat 15 at 2.30pm at Le toboggan’s

French – Wed 19 at 11am at the COPL and Sat 29 at 2.30pm at Le toboggan’s

Le toboggan’s address is 3/168 Hampden road, Nedlands. We are on the first floor and will help you to bring up your prams.

These are free family events and everyone is welcome, non-speakers too.
