holiday program Le toboggan

School holidays are fast approaching and here is our language program.

We offer story time in French, Spanish and Italian, Olympic Games workshops in the three languages and book clubs in French and Spanish.

Spanish story times – Wed 3 at 11am the City of Perth Library & Saturday 6 at 2pm at 3/168 Hampden road, Nedlands

French story times – Wed 17 at 11am at the City of Perth Library and Sat 27 at 2.30pm at 3/168 Hampden road, Nedlands.

Italian story time – Sat at 2pm in Nedlands

Olympic Games workshops – Sat 6 at 9am in French & at 11.15am in Spanish & Sat 13 at 11am in Italian in Nedlands

Book clubs – Spanish 3 July at 1pm and French 10 at 1pm in Nedlands

Polymer Clay workshop in Spanish on Tuesday 9 at 3.45pm in Nedlands

Coming up in June – story times in Spanish, Italian and French

We are happy to announced that in June we will be organising 5 story times:

Spanish – Sat 1 at 2.30pm at Le toboggan’s (Nedlands) & Wed 5 at 11am at the City of Perth Library (COPL, Hay st)

Italian – Sat 15 at 2.30pm at Le toboggan’s

French – Wed 19 at 11am at the COPL and Sat 29 at 2.30pm at Le toboggan’s

Le toboggan’s address is 3/168 Hampden road, Nedlands. We are on the first floor and will help you to bring up your prams.

These are free family events and everyone is welcome, non-speakers too.

‘El gato y el pepino’ book reading & signing’

Come and join us to discover this story about friendship between a cat and a cucumber. This is a great opportunity to interact with the and her questions about her story and her creative process.

2024 International Mother’s language Day

2024 international mother language day - le toboggan

You are invited to celebrate this year’s international mother’s language day by joining us for an amazing international story time.

We will gather on the grounds of the Fremantle Arts Centre on Saturday 17th February 2024 from 3pm.

Thanks to our kind multilingual volunteers from the Multilingual Australia, Goethe Society WA, Arya Hindi Vidyalay and many others, we are able to bring you this fantastic event that celebrates the cultural and linguistic wealth of our communities.

There will be stories read in Italian, German, Hungarian, Bahasa (Indonesian), Hindi, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese.

Free event. No booking required.

WA Museum’s Wildlife Gallery- Marsupials – in French and in Spanish with Le toboggan

We are ending this year language tours at the WA Museum with a fun visit. We learn about marsupials in an interactive and educational manner.

Did you know that not all the marsupials had pouches?

Join us t learn more fun facts about these iconic Australian animals.

French visit on Sunday 3 November at 10 am and Spanish on Sunday 5 December at 10 am.

$10/per person. Cost of the tour in French of Spanish only, adults will need to either purchase a membership (from $15) or a ticket at the entrance of the mUseum ($15).

International story times at the 2023 Scribblers Festival

Le toboggan is very proud to bring a multicultural touch to this year’s Scribblers Festival.

We will be organising 4 international story times. Mark your calendars!

Saturday 28 Oct

1pm – Chinese / 3pm – Portuguese

Sunday 29 Oct

1pm – Spanish / 3pm – French

The organisers have planned fantastic activities for your children Some require bookings.

Le toboggan’s French and Spanish tours at the WA Museum UPDATE

Our Spanish and French tours are now open to the language learners.

You do no need to master the language. Our tours offer additional exposure to enhance your language skills. We organise interactive activities and the language learners receive a vocabulary sheet related to the gallery visited.

No matter what your language level is we are happy to adapt the tour to all level of proficiency.

We can also arrange tours for language groups or schools.

2021 French & Spanish story times

We are back in 2021 at the City of Perth Library, Hay Street, with more wonderful stories in Spanish and i French.

Everyone is welcome, non speakers too.

Here are the dates for the first 6 months. the remainder of the year will be updated in a few months.

2020 Spanish & French story times at the Cambridge Library, Floreat

Come and join us for one hour of songs, stories, craft and fun in French and in Spanish.

Non speakers are welcomed. This is a free event.
