(Coyoacóan, July 6, 1907 – Coyoacóan, July 13, 1954) Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter who became one of the greatest art icons of the 20th century. She had a very personal and feminine painting style and was also a special woman with a rebellious personality and a desire for independence. She managed to overcome setbacks such as illness and a serious accident and is therefore an example of perseverance and courage for millions of women today.
