Description
The Jungle Book is a collection of short stories from the pen of the English writer Rudyard Kipling (1865? 1936). The author uses the fable as a literary device and creates stories of talking animals to give moral lessons. The stories were written when Kipling was living in Vermont, United States, as a gift to her little daughter Josephine and inspired by her native India, the legends heard in her childhood and the abundant fauna and flora of the landscapes in which she grew up.
