Book review: ‘El cuento de la lechera’

In Spanish, from 2yo.

Once upon a time, there was a young girl who used to take milk in a jar to the village every day. One day she got distracted on the way. She started thinking about how she could obtain more money. With the money from the sale of the milk she could buy a hen. The hen would have chicks, she could sell then buy a little pig. Once the pig was big and fat she could swap it for a cow and maybe her calf too.

The young girl was so excited with her plans that she was not paying attention to the path and suddenly the jar of milk fell down and broke into pieces and the milk was spilled all over the ground.

This is a sad story about broken dreams but it is up to us to change how the story ends.
