Not far from the Smurfs’ village there is a salt mine the Smurfs like to visit occasionally. On one of their visits they see children who are working in the mine. They decide to follow and understand why children have to work in these poor conditions. They find out that the children are orphans and are being exploited by the rich landowners in order to get food. This is not acceptable and Papa Smurf decided to intervene.
